MADISON, Wisconsin, October 16. The University of Wisconsin women’s swimming and diving team picked up two more recruits today, as Maddi Tew and Grace Tierney have verbally committed to the Badgers.

Tew is a Wisconsin native and attends New Berlin West High School in New Berlin, while training with Waukesha Express Swim Team in Waukesha. She’s ranked seventh in Wisconsin in Collegeswimming.com‘s 2015 recruit rankings.

Her top events include the 100 free (51.37), 200 free (1:50.94), 500 free (4:57.31) and 200 back (2:05.28), and she’s also a pretty good butterflyer with best times of 58.11 in the 100 and 2:08.54 in the 200.

Tierney hails from Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Ill. and NASA Wildcat Aquatics in Evanston, and is the fifth-ranked recruit out of Illinois on Collegeswimming.com. She is primarily a freestyler, with personal bests of 24.32 (50 free), 51.30 (100 free), 1:49.91 (200 free) and 4:50.67 (500 free).

Both swimmers should be key contributors in the individual freestyle events and on relays next year for the Badgers.
