William and Mary Secures Commitment from Tide Swimming’s Brooke Lamoureux
NEW COMMIT: The College of William and Mary has gained a new commitment for the fall of 2019 from Virginia Beach, Va. native Brooke Lamoureux.
Lamoureux does her club swimming with Tide Swimming and owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 100 breast. She most recently competed at the TYR Blizzard Blitz last month where she won the 100 breast and concluded her long course season with a best time at Virginia LCM Seniors. She placed fourth in the 50 free at Virginia Seniors in March and was a five-time finalist at ISCA Junior Nationals. Also competing for Floyd E. Kellam High School, Lamoureux finished 16th in the 100 free at the Virginia 6A State Championships during her junior season.
She told Swimming World:
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to study and continue my swimming career at the College of William and Mary! Thank you to my friends, family, and coaches who have supported me from the beginning! I couldn’t have done it without them!”
Her best times include:
- 100 breast – 1:03.64
- 200 breast – 2:25.69
- 200 IM – 2:06.55
- 100 back – 57.73
- 100 free – 51.92
Lamoureux will make a big impact when she suits up for The Tribe as a member of the class of 2023. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100 breast and the B-final of the 200 IM at the 2018 CAA Championships where William and Mary finished second overall in the team standings.
