Will Licon collected Texas’ eighth victory of the meet with an NCAA and American record time of 1:48.12 in the men’s 200-yard breast at the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.

Licon, the defending champion in the event, blasted by Kevin Cordes’ NCAA and American record time of 1:48.66 set in 2014.

Comparative Splits:

Licon: 24.59, 51.81, 1:19.65, 1:48.12
Cordes: 24.47, 52.05, 1:20.50, 1:48.66

Licon was out so fast he actually broke Brendan Hansen’s school record in the 100 in the process.
