Last February, Swimming World Magazine debuted the first cover to feature a diver since 1993 and 2019 continues that tradition.
The upcoming cover features one of 2018’s standout divers from the Women’s Division I NCAA Championships. February’s cover diver recalls feeling more nervous than usual for her final dive, stating,
“I had been at big meets before, but this was a little different. The 1-meter didn’t go well, but I was really happy with how I bounced back on 3-meter and stayed composed throughout the meet. It wasn’t really until the end of finals that I was like, ‘Maybe I could do this.’”
In addition to a personality feature on one of the NCAA’s diving champions, the February issue will also feature a special feature from the ISHOF archives in celebration of Black History month; a brief history of the women’s 100-yard backstroke; and a “Did You Know?” feature from ISHOF.
