NEW COMMIT: Ashleigh Allen, a senior at Clarkston High School in Calrkston, Michigan, has verbally committed to swim for Wayne State University beginning in the 2018-2019 season. Allen swims for her high school under Coach Amber Miller. She’s serving as a captain this year and has received All-County and All-League awards in her high school career. Allen does her year round swimming with Kingfish Aquatic Club of Waterford where she swims for Coach Brad Brockway.

Allen’s top times include:

  • 1650 Free 17:27.04
  • 500 Free 5:10.31
  • 100 Free 54.28
  • 50 Free 24.59
  • 400 IM 4:34.98
  • 200 IM 2:08.25

Allen said of her decision,

“I am excited to announce my commitment to study and swim for Wayne State University next fall. The team is very close and welcomed me openly, and the coaching staff is amazing! I know I will have great success both in and out of the pool. Go Warriors!!!”

Wayne State finished second at the GLIAC Championships last year. Allen would have finished seventh in the mile, Wayne State’s second best finisher. She’ll fit in nicely between Ellie Dean (17:08.31) and Theresa Riviera (17:39.26), who she’ll overlap with for one and two years, respectively. She’d also be a 200 and 400 IM B finalist.

Lol. Theresa can’t swim anymore, shoulder. And Ellie is a 16.59, but otherwise pretty fun, thanks!!

Oh well if the author messed the time up of Ellie, this article wasn’t about her. Last I checked it was about Ashleigh and how she will nicely help Wayne State! Nicely written article, congrats to Wayne and Ashleigh!
