Washington State College women vs. Salisbury

SALISBURY, Maryland, November 11. SENIOR Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook)broke two Maggs Physical Activity Center Pool records as the Washington College women's swim team defeated host Salisbury University, 127-78, tonight in a non-conference meet. The victory was the Shorewomen's (2-1) 58th consecutive non-conference dual meet win and their 24th straight against the Sea Gulls (1-2).

Glasser broke the 100-meter butterfly record with her first-place time of 1:05.10 and the 400-meter freestyle record with her first-place time of 4:34.61. She also won the 200-meter individual medley in 2:29.62.

Sophomore Sarah Sykes (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley-Demarest) won the 800-meter freestyle in 10:11.10 and was second in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:22.00. Freshman Hilary Badger (Baltimore, MD/Mount de Sales) was first in the 100-meter backstroke in 1:13.60 and second in the 50-meter freestyle in 28.72. Junior Jenna Moore (Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales) won the 50-meter freestyle in 28.42 and was second in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:17.43. Freshman Carly Ogren (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) added a first-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:19.84, while freshman Elizabeth Miskiel(Gaithersburg, MD/Quince Orchard) won the 100-meter freestyle in 1:03.09. Freshman Samantha Gross (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) finished second in the 200-meter individual medley in 2:39.50.

The Shorewomen also won both relay events to take first place in 10 of the meet's 11 events. They won the 200-meter medley relay in 2:08.64 and the 200-meter freestyle relay in 1:59.76.

The Shorewomen return to action Friday with a 5:00 p.m. non-conference meet at St. Mary's.
