Washington College Lose Home Meets Against Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pennsylvania, November 17. WASHINGTON College freshman Lucas Morgan (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands Regional) won three individual events, all in school all-time top 10 times, but the visiting Washington College men's swim team fell to host Franklin & Marshall, 121-83, in a Centennial Conference men's swimming dual meet this afternoon in Lancaster, PA.

Morgan won the 200 breaststroke in a Washington College season-best time of 2:15.02 to become the Shoremen's fifth-fastest swimmer ever in that event. He won the 500 freestyle in a WC season-best 4:55.91 to become the Shoremen's eighth-fastest swimmer ever in that event and captured the 200 individual medley in a WC season-best 2:01.29 to improve upon his time for seventh-fastest in school history in that event.

The Shoremen also won the 400 medley relay as freshman Charles Logan(Durham, NC/Riverside), freshman Eric Burcin (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty), sophomore Greg Lee (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial), and sophomore Steven Bilinski (Swarthmore, PA/Strath Haven) finished first in 3:43.61.

Logan was also second in the 200 backstroke with a WC season-best time of 2:05.81 to become the Shoremen's 10th-fastest swimmer ever in that event. Sophomore Austin Yocum (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) placed second in the 200 freestyle in a WC season-best 1:48.23 and in the 100 freestyle in 49.00. Lee added a second-place finish in the 200 butterfly in a WC season-best 2:04.21, while junior Robert Mix (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) placed second in the 1000 freestyle in 10:54.61.

The Shoremen return to action November 30th through December 2nd at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.

Host Franklin & Marshall topped visiting Washington College, 130-65, in a Centennial Conference women's swimming dual meet this afternoon in Lancaster, PA.

Junior Ellie Miskiel (Gaithersburg, MD/Quince Orchard) won a pair of individual events for the Shorewomen in the loss, both in Washington College season-best times. She won the 100 freestyle in 56.54 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:33.14.

Junior Carly Ogren (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) added a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle for Washington, finishing in a time of 5:40.30. Sophomore Alicia Howard (Wilmington, DE/Charter School of Wilmington) swam a WC season-best time of 2:22.01 in the 200 backstroke in a fifth-place finish.

The Shorewomen (2-3, 1-2 Centennial) return to action November 30th through December 2nd at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
