Washington and Lee vs. Gardner-Webb

LEXINGTON, Virginia, November 5. GARDNER-Webb had swimmers time fastest in ten of eleven events Friday evening as the Runnin' Bulldog men's swim team defeated Washington and Lee by a 114-86 score at the Cy Twombly Pool.

The Runnin' Bulldogs set a new pool record in the first event of the evening, the 400 yard medley relay, when the team of Jordan Denmark, Casey Brutus, Steven Caudill, and George Partin claimed first place with a time of 3:28.95.

Derek Gore touched the wall first in the 1000 yard freestyle event, timing in at 10:14.70.

George Partin timed fastest in the 200 yard freestyle event at 1:45.59. He was also quickest in the 100 yard freestyle event at 48.20.

Tyler Nuss placed first in the 400 yard IM, finishing with a time of 4:14.55.

Steven Caudill earned first place in the 200 yard butterfly event, touching the wall at 1:55.03.

Jordan Denmark timed first in the 200 yard backstroke event with a time of 1:56.45.

Mitchell Turner won the 500 yard freestyle event with a time of 4:58.34.

Casey Brutus timed quickest in the 200 yard breaststroke event with a time of 2:12.49.

The Runnin' Bulldogs wrapped up the meet with the 400 yard freestyle relay event, with the team of Matt Anderson, D.J. Hughes, Steven Caudill, and Jordan Denmark touching the wall quickest, timing in at 3:13.66.

Gardner-Webb wastes little time before returning to action, facing VMI Saturday afternoon at 12:30 in Lynchburg, Va.
