Washington and Lee Receives Commitment from Enfinity Aquatic Club’s Todd Echols
NEW COMMIT: Winson Salem, North Carolina native Todd Echols has announced his commitment to Washington and Lee University and will join the Generals this fall.
Echols does his club swimming with Enfinity Aquatic Club and recently achieved a trio of lifetime bests at the NC Star Triad Tropic meet in December. He finaled in the 200m breast at NC LCM Seniors this past summer and placed 20th in the 100 breast at Greensboro Speedo Sectionals last March. Also competing for RJ Reynolds Senior High School, Echols finished sixth in the 100 breast as a senior at the North Carolina 4A State Championships after placing 13th during his sophomore season.
He told Swimming World:
“Excited to announce my commitment to study and swim at Washington and Lee University! Thank you to my family, coaches, and friends for helping me along the way. Go Generals!!!”
Her best times include:
- 100 breast – 57.85
- 200 breast – 2:10.73
- 200 IM – 1:56.29
- 400 IM – 4:18.64
Echols will make an immediate impact when he suits up for the Generals as a member of the class of 2023. He would’ve scored in the A-final of both IMs and both breaststroke events at the 2019 ODAC Championships where Washington and Lee earned their fifth-straight team title.
