Walters Promoted to Assistant Coach at Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pennsylvania, December 6. ROCK athletic director Paul Lueken announced Monday that Nathan Walters has been promoted from graduate assistant to part-time assistant coach for the SRU women's swimming team.

He has served as SRU's graduate assistant for swimming since the start of the 2005-06 academic year.

He is currently completing work on an MS in sport management degree at SRU after receiving a BS in health and physical education from Edinboro University in 2005.

Walters earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete honors all four years of his undergraduate career and was also named to National Swimming Coaches Association all-academic honors.

He also has experience as a student assistant coach for the Edinboro swim team during the 2004-05 season and as a student intern for the Erie Otters Hockey Club (summer of 2005) and Erie McDowell High School athletic department (spring semester 2004).

Walters is a native of Ashtabula, Ohio.
