Vladimir Dyatchine, Chloe Sutton Claim RCP Tiburon Mile Titles

SAN FRANCISCO, California, September 18. OVER the weekend, Vladimir Dyatchine and Chloe Sutton laid claim to the RCP Tiburon Mile titles for the second year in a row.

Last year, Dyatchine picked up the top honor for the men with a controversial win over Thomas Lurz after the pair physically battled each other down the final sprint to the finish. This year, however, Dyatchine earned a much cleaner victory with a time of 18:20.0. Brenden Capell of Australia finished second among the men with a time of 18:22.8, while Scott Kaufmann took third in 18:26.3.

Sutton dueled Kalyn Keller throughout the race before stopping the clock first in 19:04.7. Keller completed the course second in 19:05.9, while Russia's Ksenia Popova finished third in the women's race with a time of 19:08.0.

Look for an inside look at the race in November's issue of Swimming World Magazine as Tito Morales will provide a first-person view of the race. He finished in 82nd overall with a time of 23:37.3.
