NEW COMMITS: Charlottesville, Va. native Izzy Bradley has opted to remain close to home for her college career after verbally committing to the University of Virginia beginning in the fall of 2022.

She will join Claire Tuggle and Zoe Skirboll as a member of the Cavaliers’ class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“Been dreaming about this forever and am excited to make it official by announcing my verbal commitment to swim at the University of Virginia!! Thank you to my family and friends, my dedicated coaches, and most importantly my teammates for the endless support and helping me reach this point. ?? #WAHOOWA”

A Junior National qualifier, Bradley does her club swimming with the Piedmont Family YMCA and raced two events at Juniors East in December. Last summer, she earned 100% best times at YMCA LCM Nationals where she finished ninth in the 100m back and 19th in the 50m free.

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 25.38
  • 100 back – 54.44
  • 200 back – 2:05.25
  • 50 free – 23.19
  • 100 free – 53.24
  • 100 fly – 57.34

A current junior at Monticello High School, Bradley is already a four-time Virginia Class 3 State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won both the 50 free and 100 back as a sophomore while taking first and second, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.

Bradley also swam the lead-off leg of the winning 4×50 free and 4×50 medley relays in 2020.

Under head coach Todd DeSorbo, Virginia dominated the ACC Championships last season. The Cavaliers placed sixth at the 2019 NCAA Championships and were seeded to win the national title in 2020 before the meet was canceled due the coronavirus pandemic.
