Virginia Bests Virginia Tech (M: 172-128; W: 188-110)

BLACKSBURG, Virginia, October 20. THE Virginia men's and women's swimming and diving teams best Virginia Tech in a dual meet. The Cavalier men won 172-128 while the Virginia women beat the Hokies 188-110.

The UVa women broke four pool records which included the 200 medley relay, 1000 freestyle, 200 butterfly and 200 backstroke events.

The relay team of Mei Christensen, Ellie Freeman, Stephanie Glover and Jessica Lewis swam the 200 medley in 1:43.59. Jenn Narum won the 1000 free in a time of 10:03.15 and Liz Shaw claimed the 200 fly in 2:00.90. Christensen claimed her second record of the event in the 200 back, finishing in a time of 2:01.22.

Matt McLean and John Azar led the Cavalier men with two wins apiece. Azar claimed the 200 individual medley (2:05.49) and the 200 breaststroke (2:05.47). McLean, meanwhile, won both the 100 (46.04) and 200 (1:39.85) freestyle events.
