Rayann Jaryszak gave Villanova University another verbal commitment. Jaryszak brings an incredibly strong breaststroke/IM skill set to the Wildcats and the Big East conference. She swims for Ron Forrest at Fort Worth Area Swim Team and attends Nolan Catholic High School. She is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American as well.

Jaryszak told Swimming World,

“I chose Villanova because as soon as I stepped on campus, I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be. The academics are incredible and I absolutely loved the team and the coaches! I can’t wait to be a Wildcat!!!!”

Her best times are:

  • 100 Breast 1:02.08
  • 200 Breast 2:14.61
  • 200 IM 2:01.58
  • 400 IM 4:24.41
  • 200 Back 2:01.99

Yesterday Emily Provenzo gave Villanova her verbal commitment as well. Both girls will be serious contenders in the Big East Conference Championship, a meet the Wildcats won last year. Jaryszak matches Provenzo in her ability to be an A finalist in her five best events, and the potential to emerge a conference champion as a freshman. Last year, Jaryszak’s best 100 breaststroke time would have won the event and been an NCAA B cut. She’s a second and a half faster than Villanova’s top performer as well, making her the likely relay breaststroker.
