Despite windy conditions on day one of the TYR Pro Swim Series in Mesa, Tim Phillips cruised to first in the men’s 100 fly. He stopped the clock in 52.88 to finish just ahead of Michael Andrew (52.93).

Phillips said it’s one of the best in-season swims he has had in the past few years, even though he said it felt like he wasn’t moving due to the wind. He also discussed how he’s coming off a recent training trip and how he’s using that to go after his races this weekend.
