Taylor Ault of La Mirada Armada pulled away from Lauren Pitzer and then from Erica Sullivan on the back half of the women’s 400 free final and ended up picking up the win, touching in 4:11.62.

This meet is Ault’s swansong with La Mirada Armada, as she heads off to Gainesville, Fla., to start college at the University of Florida. Ault explained after her 400 free what it feels like to have this last experience with her teammates before she starts a new phase of her life and also what she’s expecting out of swimming with Gators head coach Gregg Troy.

She also discussed what it was like watching future teammate Caeleb Dressel win seven gold medals at the FINA World Championships in Budapest.
