Chase Kalisz won two events on the second day of the TYR Pro Swim Series in Mesa. He began the night with a win in the men’s 200 fly (1:56.69) and cruised to first in the 200 IM (1:57.68) not too long after. He also won the 400 IM o(4:14.08) on day one.

After winning the women’s 200 back on day one (2:10.94), Olivia Smoliga won her second event of the meet so far, this time touching the wall first in the 100 back (1:00.08) to win by over a second. She also finished fifth in the 100 free (55.30).

Kalisz discussed battling the wind and revealed that he wasn’t happy with his 400 IM swim yesterday. Even though her coaches made her swim the 200, Smoliga said she was pleasantly surprised by how it went.
