Video Interview Joseph Schooling, 2 Singapore National Records in Prelims


CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, May 10. Bolles School's Joseph Schooling had a spectacular morning on the first day of the Arena Grand Prix, Charlotte.

He set two new Singapore National records in the 200 freestyle (1:50.33) and 100 butterfly (52.55). Schooling now holds five Singapore national records, in the 200 free, 50 fly (24.06), 100 fly (52.55), 200 fly (1:56.67) and 200 IM (2:03.61).

Schooling talked to Swimming World correspondent David Rieder after today's preliminary session. He talked about representing Singapore at the Southeast Asian Games in December, the Barcelona World Championships, and racing Olympians like Ryan Lochte.

Schooling qualified for finals tonight in both events: he is tied for second in the 200 freestyle and first in the 100 butterfly.
