Texas Longhorn’s John Murray sat down with Swimming World to discuss his role in the winning 200 free relay, as well as his own individual effort in the 50 free. Murray gave credit for his team for setting an attitude of belief that has set him up to finish out his senior year with a bang. He acknowledged that coming off of the Longhorn’s 4 wins in one night is allowing them to approach tomorrow with a lot of confidence and discussed the ways that he has been focusing on his reaction times to set him and his teammates up for such successful relays.

Later on, fellow Longhorn Townley Haas discussed his 500 free victory. He discusses his strategy to take the race out hard, and his personal goal of breaking 4:10, as well his relationship with teammate Clark Smith who he credits with pushing him each day in practice. He also discussed his incredible 1:30 split in the relay the night before, and how this boosted his confidence facing the 500.
