NC State’s Anton Ipsen won the 1500 on Thursday night at the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus, Ohio and talked to Swimming World about his confidence in that event moving towards the European Championships in four weeks in Glasgow.

Ipsen also talked about how he had a “mental block” in the 1500 long course and what helped him get over that. Ipsen was less than two seconds off his best time from the 2016 Rio Olympics and he is due for a big swim this summer.

Ipsen also discussed his immediate plans for the future of his career since he has one more year of school left. Ipsen was unsure if he wanted to return to Denmark after graduating or if he wanted to stay in Raleigh and continue to train with NC State.
