Anthony Ervin and Tom Shields, both gold medalists from this summer’s Olympics in Rio, shared some space on the red carpet at Golden Goggles Monday night as they discussed the three months since Rio.
Ervin explained what he’s been up has been since winning gold in the 50 free in Rio—notably, a lot of travel—and gave some hints to his future in swimming on a night that culminated with his receiving the Perseverance Award.
Shields explained how he has joined Ervin in being involved in USA Swimming governance matters and why he has returned to training already. He reflected on how it feels to have been a professional swimmer for almost four years now and why he feels like he has some much more to give in his career.
