NEW COMMIT: Kendall Ware of Canadaigua, New York has given her verbal commitment to swim for the University of Vermont beginning in the fall of 2018. She’s a senior at Canadaigua Academy. Swimming for her school, Ware has been a six time state qualifier and a finalist through her junior year. She’s a two time individual champion in Section V.

Ware has swum for Victor Swim Club since 2014. While with the program she has continued to improve, especially in her secondary events. At the club level, Ware has been a short course and long course Niagara Championships finalist. She is also a Sectionals, Zones, and Futures qualifier.

Ware’s top times include:

  • 100 Back 58.28
  • 200 Back 2:07.07
  • 200 IM 2:10.12
  • 400 IM 4:38.65
  • 200 Free 1:56.87
  • 500 Free 5:14.77

Ware already finds herself in scoring range in a number of events in the America East. At last year’s Championships she would have been a B finalist in the 200 and 400 IMs and 100 and 200 backstroke and in the C final of the 200 and 500 free.

She told Swimming World,

“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Vermont to continue my academic and swimming careers. From the academic program in Speech Pathology and the beautiful campus, to the swimming culture and team that Coach Cournoyer and his staff have created, UVM is a great fit for me and I’m really looking forward to starting next fall in Vermont.”
