Versatile Sydnee Dressel Verbally Commits to Toledo
NEW COMMIT: The University of Toledo has received a verbal commitment from Sydnee Dressel for the 2018-2019 season. Dressel swims for Elmbrook Swim Club in Elmbrook, Wisconsin. She should be an instant contributor for the Rockets.
Dressel told Swimming World,
“I’m so excited and blessed to announce my verbal commitment to swim and attend school at the University of Toledo! Go Rockets!”
The rising senior is fairly versatile. Her best events, measured by USA Swimming’s Power Point system are the 200 backstroke and 400 IM. She posted lifetime bests in both of those this year. Her top SCY times are:
- 200 Back 2:02.23
- 400 IM 4:27.65
- 1650 Free 17:34.97
- 200 Fly 2:07.57
Toledo competes in the Mid-American Conference. At the 2017 Conference Championship Dressel would have been a 200 backstroke B finalist. The Rockets had just one scoring swimmer in that event, freshman Izzy Jones (1:56.63). She’ll overlap with Dressel for two years. In the 1650 Dressel would have touched just two places outside scoring and would have been Toledo’s highest finisher. Her lifetime best would make Dressel a 200 IM B finalist. Fifteenth place finisher Allie Brinkhoff will have graduated by Dressel’s arrival, making her likely the team’s IM leader in her first year.
