NEW COMMIT: Fairport Area Swim Team’s (FAST) Grace Chen has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Georgetown University. The Fairport High School will join the Hoyas beginning next fall.

Chen’s versatility will have an immediate impact while competing for Georgetown in the Big East Conference. Her best times include:
- 100 Back (55.82)
- 200 Back (2:03.71)
- 100 Free (52.31)
- 100 Fly (58.06)
- 200 IM (2:08.61)
She recently came off her 2017 winter season having competed in her third USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals in Knoxville,Tennesee. The prior summer she posted career best times at the Geneva, Ohio Futures meet in the 100 meter back (1:05.14) where she placed 10th overall.
Chen is also a two time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
Depending on where her strengths fall into next year’s Georgetown team, Chen’s times would have been good enough to place 5th (100 back), 8th (200 back), 13th (200 IM), 15th (100 fly) at the 2017 Big East Championships.
