Utah Hires Jason Baumann as Head Diving Coach

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, January 15. UNIVERSITY of Utah head swimming and diving coach Greg Winslow announced the addition of Jason Baumann to his coaching staff on Friday. Baumann will coach the Ute divers.

"Jason's experience, enthusiasm, and attention to detail have our entire swimming and diving team excited," says Winslow. "Jason adds a wealth of knowledge to our staff and we are thankful to have him."

Prior to coming to Salt Lake City, Baumann served as the head summer diving coach with the Clayton Diving Alliance in Clayton, Mo., where he coached an AAU national champion, a USA Diving Junior National qualifier and six junior zone qualifiers. Additionally, Baumann spent time overseas last year as an assistant coach for Team Norway in the 2009 USA Diving Grand Prix and as the diving team leader in the 2009 USA Junior Pan American Championships.

Baumann, a native of Clayton, Mo., has 10 years of college coaching experience that includes stints at Wyoming, Indiana and Minnesota.

During his time at Minnesota and Indiana from 2001-2009, Baumann coached 12 Big Ten Conference finalists, five Big Ten consolation finalists and 2004 USA Olympic Team members Cassandra Cardinell and Sara Hildebrand,

Baumann graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in political science and criminal justice and a master's degree in applied sports science.
