Utah Adds Tami Johnson to Swim Coaching Staff

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, September 4. TAMI Johnson joins previous additions to the Ute staff James Winchester and Mason Norman as coaches for the Utah 2012-13 Swimming and Diving lineup. Johnson will serve as a full-time assistant coach, her first collegiate coaching position.

“This has already been a great experience with everyone has being so welcoming,” said Johnson. “Coach Winslow has built a phenomenal team. It's exciting to be a part of this, with the Utes in the Pac-12 and the program here so well supported.”

Over the last six years, Johnson served the Age Group and Masters coach for the Bluefish Swim Club in Attleboro, Mass. During Johnson's tenure, membership in the Age Group program grew from five members to 50 and she prides herself on creating a very diverse Masters group.

Other coaching experiences include head coaching duties for the Bearcroft Summer League in Attleboro, Mass. and Senior and Junior team assistant coaching at Schroeder YMCA, Wis.

Previously, Johnson swam at Iowa State University where she earned a B.S. in Marketing in May of 2005.

Johnson continues to enhance her coaching and teaching skills by swimming at the Masters level.
