KNOXVILLE, Tennessee, December 7. QUEENS’ Matt Josa has certainly been an amazing pick up for the relatively new program. The NCAA Division I talent, who decided to remain home to swim for his local team, has been putting up some seriously fast times for Queens this year, and this morning was no different at the USA Swimming Winter Nationals.

Josa threw down a 1:43.03 to qualify sixth this morning in the distance dorsal (23.91, 49.14, 1:16.01, 1:43.03), to break the NCAA Division II record in the process. His swim, that represented a two-second drop from his lifetime best, downed Jeffrey Halfacre’s record of 1:43.41 clocked for Florida Southern in 2012.

Josa recently appeared on the Morning Swim Show. Check out his interview.
