USA Swimming Sectionals, Pleasant Prairie: Second Night in the Books

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wisconsin, March 9. THE USA Swimming Sectionals held in Pleasant Prairie came to a close tonight with another handful of event winners.

Hannah Ross won the women's 100 back in 1:03.33, while Shawano's Mackenzie Buss took second in 1:04.23. Harvard's Deirdre Clute placed third in 1:04.42. McFarland's Ryan O'Donnell won the men's 100 back in 57.22, while Minnetonka's Cole Bateman placed second in 58.27. Rapid City's Joshua Jordan earned third in 58.81.

Paulina Gralow captured the women's 100 breast in 1:12.72. Central Iowa's Katharine Ross placed second in 1:13.85, while Waukesha's Anna Meinholz took third in 1:13.96. Peddie's Forrest Davis claimed the men's 100 breast in 1:05.37. Green Bay's John Bushman touched second in 1:05.72, while Tariq Miller picked up third in 1:05.99.

Harvard's Caterine Zagroba topped the women's 200 free in 2:05.09. Colorado Springs' Frida Berggren took second in 2:05.44, while Harvard's Kelsey Hojan Clark finished third in 2:06.94. Tyler Hines earned the men's 200 free title in 1:55.23. Thomas Duvall (1:55.30) and Andrew Nielsen (1:56.64) completed the top three.

Lafayette's Elizabeth Billeaud edged Harvard's Ana Anaya, 1:02.90 to 1:03.12, in the women's 100 fly. Cedar Rapids' Kelsey Drake, 13, placed third in 1:04.11. Southwest's Michael Lucchesi captured the men's 100 fly in 55.43. Cats Aquatic's Connor Black finished second in 55.71, while Wes Lagerhausen took third in 55.74.

Colorado Springs' Frida Berggren knocked off Hannah Ross, 2:21.47 to 2:21.69, for the women's 200 IM title. Jennah Haney wound up third in 2:22.57. Blue Devil's Daniel Conway topped the men's 200 IM in 2:06.98. Brandon O'Donnell took second in 2:07.71, while Rochester's Kendrick Bachman picked up third in 2:10.39.
