USA Swimming Sectionals, Jenks: Five More Olympic Trials Cuts

JENKS, Oklahoma, March 3. DURING the penultimate evening of long course meter competition, five more Olympic Trials cuts went on the scoreboard at the USA Swimming Sectionals in Jenks, Okla.,

Brooke Brull cleared the Olympic Trials cut in the women's 200 IM with a 2:19.00, while KC Blazer Katarina Sickle took second in 2:23.03. Parkway's Heather Lundstrom finished third in 2:23.32.

Kansas' Mariah Mayrovich clocked a 26.04 in the women's 50 free to eclipse the Olympic Trials cut. Lawrence Aquahawk Courtney Caldwell placed second in 26.48. Shana Lim picked up third in 26.59.

Lim returned in the women's 100 back with a 1:03.10 for the win, and an Olympic Trials cut. Rockwood's Carol Rodriguez took second in 1:04.73. Columbia's Chelsea Tatlow finished third in 1:06.15.

Greater Omaha's Ryan Miksch put up a 23.49 in the men's 50 free, better than the Olympic Trials standard. Rec Plex's Andrew Sansoucie earned second in 23.51, while Lindenwood's Ivan Akmentins placed third in 23.62.

Ad Astra Area's Katie Price checked in with a 2:35.37 to win the women's 200 breast, and surpass the Olympic Trials mark. Kansas' Danielle Herrmann finished second in 2:37.43, while CSP Tiderider Madison Qualy wound up third in 2:42.70.

KC Blazer Andre Koop won the men's 200 IM with a 2:07.48. Greater Omaha's Jacob Molacek finished second in 2:09.85, while Parkway's Nickolaus Orf earned third in 2:09.88. Tsunami's Chris Novak claimed the men's 200 breast in 2:22.27. Razorback's Gage Crosby touched second in 2:22.88, while Millard's Isaac Springer placed third in 2:25.01.

Greater Omaha's William Raynor hit the wall in 57.93 to win the men's 100 back. Lindenwood's Ramunas Paknys (58.51) and Koop (59.38) placed second and third. Sickle won the women's 400 free in 4:23.41, while Topeka's Haley Molden turned in second with a 4:23.56. Lincoln Select's Blake Balogh finished third in 4:27.90. KC Blazer Ben Bravence put up a 4:03.37 to win the men's 400 free. SwimTulsa's Eastman Holloway took second in 4:06.40, while KC Blazer James Foster placed third in 4:07.91.
