USA Swimming Sectionals, Germantown: Distance Freestyle Opens Meet

GERMANTOWN, Maryland, March 27. THE men's 1000-yard free and women's 1650-yard free opened the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Germantown, Md.

North Baltimore's Camryne Morris captured the women's 1650-yard free title in 16:26.71, while Star's Courtney Otto placed second in 16:29.67. Pine Richland's Lindsay Vrooman finished third in 16:46.30.

The Fish went 1-2-3 in the men's 1000-yard free. Michael Flach won in a meet-record 9:10.48. That time cleared the 9:13.34 set by Jamie Grimes back in 2002. Matthew Benecki finished second in 9:15.27, while Adam Pennington took third in 9:15.41.
