USA Swimming Sectionals, Columbia: Bobby Bollier Remains on Fire During Third Night

COLUMBIA, Missouri, March 1. BOBBY Bollier, a Swimming World five-star recruit representing the Kansas City Blazers and headed to Stanford, claimed two more event titles tonight at the USA Swimming Sectional in Columbia. Last night, Bollier claimed titles in the 100 fly and 400 IM. Tonight, he walked away with wins in the 200 IM and 400 free.

Emma Reaney, 15, of the Aquahawks started the night off right with a touch-out win in the 200 IM. She clocked a time of 2:21.18 to hold off Wichita's Jamie Bruce, who placed second in 2:21.86.

Bollier claimed his fourth title of the meet with a win in the men's 200 IM when he clocked a 2:07.22.

Amber Green, 16, of Rockwood cleared 27 in the women's 50 free when she captured the splash-and-dash title in 26.98. In the men's sprint free, Chris McCrary of CSP Swimming snagged the crown in 23.92.

After the excitement of the sprint freestyle races, the breaststrokers entered the pool next. Rockwood's Haley Spencer, 17, dominated the field with a time of 2:36.87 over the 200-meter distance. Ben Solari of HEAT followed with a triumph in the men's 200 breast when he clocked a 2:25.28.

Taylor Wohrley, 16, of CSP Swimming put together a time of 1:04.51 as she cruised in the women's 100 back for the title. In the men's side of the event, Ellis Miller, 16, provided the lone sub-1:00 time of the race with a winning effort of 59.80.

After winning a pair of titles yesterday with wins in the 200 free and 400 IM, Shannon Vreeland, 16, of the Kansas City Blazers dominated the women's 400 free with a time of 4:24.95.

Bollier continued his remarkable meet when he doubled up with a dominant victory in the men's 400 free. He clocked a time of 4:02.09, which is five seconds fastest than second-place finisher Cody Reeb's time of 4:07.80.

In relay action, Bailey Beins, Jamie Bruce, Lisa Lunkenheimer and Rebecca Swank of Wichita won the women's 400 medley relay in 4:25.10, while the Kansas City Blazer team of Bryson Cramer, Griffin Peavey, Eric Bonicelli and Matthew Margritier captured the men's 400 medley relay in 4:02.41.
