USA Swimming Sectionals, Brown Deer: Distance Events Open Meet

BROWN DEER, Wisconsin, March 12. THE 1000-yard freestyle events commenced the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Brown Deer, Wis.

South West's Brittany Walsh captured the women's 1000-yard freestyle in 10:04.28, while Badger's Katherine Delaney placed second in 10:09.18. Black Hawk's Bailey Pons completed the top three in 10:11.46.

Flying Fish's CJ Smith grabbed the men's 1000-yard free title in 9:26.25, while Peoria Area's Matt Elliott took second in 9:30.68. McFarland's Graham Thoresen touched just behind for this in 9:30.85.
