USA Swimming Sectionals, Austin: Longhorn Rules Home Turf

AUSTIN, Texas, July 17. OUT of the four individual titles up for grabs during the second night of swimming, Longhorn Aquatics claimed three of them at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Austin.

Rebecca Orr topped the women's 200 free in 2:03.50, while Cammile Adams, 16, of Fleet placed second in 2:04.98. Allison Arnold, 16 of Mustangs finished third in 2:05.00.

Michael Klueh led wire-to-wire over teammate Sean Patton, 1:49.36 to 1:51.20, in the men's 200 free. Sean Leneave of The Woodlands took third in 1:52.96.

Kirsty Coventry crushed the field in the women's 400 IM with a time of 4:45.50. Teammate Susana Escobar placed second in 4:54.56, while Adams finished third in 4:56.42.

Leneave provided the only non-Longhorn individual win of the night with a 4:29.00 in the men's 400 IM. Scott Drews of Longhorn took second in 4:37.15, while Peter O'Brien, 17, of Fleet rounded out the top three in 4:42.05.

In 800 free relay action, The Woodlands' Kelsey Amundsen, Erin Foster, Liz Nelson and Gen Swartz won the women's in 8:26.23, while Mustang Swimming's Matt Roney, John Huddleston, Nate Clark and Clint Hallum claimed the men's in 7:39.33.
