USA Swimming Names Junior Teamers Headed on FINA World Cup Trips

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, September 16. ONE of the best opportunities available to members of the Junior National team named by USA Swimming is the potential to be named to the FINA World Cup trip roster. This year, 19 swimmers are headed to the FINA World Cup stops in Tokyo and Beijing in November.

With the speed of those on the squad, there’s a strong chance that FINA could save some money in not having to pay these NCAA-bound swimmers prize money (though Paul Powers is the only swimmer on the list to have made a college commitment so far). In sum, the swimmers selected for this tour captured 27 medals at the Junior World Championships earlier this summer. The teams will compete in Tokyo Nov. 9-10 and Beijing Nov. 13-14.
