COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, June 22. SCOTT Colby has been named Sports Performance Consultant for USA Swimming, the organization announced. Colby will begin his tenure this August and will join existing Sports Performance Consultants Daniel McCarthy and Bailey Weathers.
"Scott brings a focus on club success, a strong background in the exercise sciences as a well as high level of ingenuity and innovation in his coaching philosophy," said Field Services Director Ira Klein.
During his 33-years as coach of successful USA Swimming and YMCA club teams, Colby has coached two National Champions, seven Junior National Champions, and multiple National Team swimmers.
"It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to serve USA Swimming as a Sport Performance Consultant" stated Colby. "I look forward to my new role assisting coaches with the latest information available as well as giving back what I have learned from so many others over the years."
Colby's coaching career includes stints at Dynamo Swim Club, Fort Worth/Arlington Swim Team and Bengal Tiger Aquatics. Most recently, he has served as the Head Coach of the Worthington Swim Club in Ohio. Scott graduated from Saint John's University (N.Y.) and earned a Masters Degree in Physical Education at Adelphi University.
