Following the closure of the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana because of the coronavirus pandemic, USA Swimming will be unavailable to host the TYR Pro Swim Series that was originally set to be swum from May 6 – 9.

Indianapolis marked the final stop of the 2020 TYR Pro Swim Series, following previous stops in Greensboro, Knoxville and Des Moines. The Mission Viejo stop, scheduled for April 16-19, has already been cancelled due to COVID-19.

The Olympic Games have not been officially postponed, but IOC committee member Dick Pound stated today that the Games will likely be postponed to 2021. This will come as a big sigh of relief to athletes who have been unable to train due to cancellations from the coronavirus pandemic that is affecting the rest of the world. If the Games are indeed postponed another year, then that will take the pressure off the athletes and coaches that have been scrambling to find pool time to ensure they are ready to go for Tokyo in July.
