USA Swim Squads Return With DiRado, Adams, Beisel, Jaeger as Captains
The National Team will be split into four USA Swim Squads that will compete for points and a grand prize throughout the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series, as they did in 2018.
The captains are Maya DiRado, Cammile Adams, Elizabeth Beisel and Connor Jaeger. The draft for the captains will be Nov. 18.
General Rules
- Captains pick 6 swimmers to race for their squad at each meet:
2 free events for 1 swimmer
2 back events for 1 swimmer
2 breast events for 1 swimmer
2 fly events for 1 swimmer
2 IM events for 1 swimmer
Any 2 events for another swimmer (the flex position)
The squad with the most points will donate $10,000 to the charity of their choice.Those swimmers can score in the events captains designated for 1st to 8th place:
1st place: 10 points
2nd place: 8 points
3rd place: 7 points
4th place: 5 points
5th place: 4 points
6th place: 3 points
7th place: 2 points
8th place: 1 point
The 2019 USA Swim Squads Season
- Jan 9-12 – Pro Swim Series #1 *
- Mar 6-9 – Pro Swim Series #2 *
- Apr 10-13 – Pro Swim Series #3 *
- May 3 – Open Water Nationals 10K **
- May 16-19 – Pro Swim Series #4 *
- Jun 12-15 – Pro Swim Series #5 *
* Every TYR Pro Swim Series will offer all the 50’s stroke prelims/finals (no knockout format)
** OW Nationals only has 2 events – the men’s and women’s 10K.- captains can enter up to 3 men / 3 women from their squad.
Winning squad will be awarded at Phillips 66 Nationals.
