Ukraine Summer Cup: Daryna Zevina Dominates

KHARKIV, Ukraine, May 7. THE Ukraine Summer Cup opened up on May 5, and is scheduled to conclude tomorrow May 8. Plenty of racing took place during the in-season event, with Daryna Zevina finding her way to the top of the podium regularly.

Zevina has put on a show the first few days of the meet. She already has won the women's 200 free (1:59.55), women's 400 free (4:14.96), women's 100 back (1:01.34) and women's 200 back (2:11.31) with one more day left on the docket.

Nadiya Koba touched out Hanna Dzerkal, 25.78 to 25.80, for the women's 50 free title. Dzerkal went on to win the women's 100 free in 56.08, and captured the women's 200 breast crown in 2:29.70. Mariya Liver earned the women's 100 breast crown in 1:09.91. Lyubov Korol posted a 59.78 to win the women's 100 fly, while Catherine Lviv snagged the women's 200 fly title in 2:18.13. Iryna Glavnyk won the women's 400 IM in 4:50.87.

Andriy Govorov claimed the men's 50 free in 22.48, while also earning the 100 free title in 51.23. Nikita Konovalov picked up the men's 200 free title in 1:50.16, while Sergiy Frolov earned the men's 400 free crown in 3:53.11. Oleksandr Isakov turned in a 55.58 to win the men's 100 back, while also claiming the men's 200 back title in 1:59.48.

Andriy Kovalenko posted a 1:01.52 for the men's 100 breast title, while Oleksiy Rozhkov clocked a 2:13.49 to trip up Kovalenko (2:13.66) in the men's 200 breast finale. Elijah Chuiev snared the men's 100 fly title in 53.75, while Denys Dubrov took second in 53.81. Chuiev also won the men's 200 fly in 1:58.88. Maxim Shemberev earned the men's 400 IM title in 4:23.97.
