UCLA, UC Irvine vs. Arizona

TUCSON, Arizona, November 10. THE Arizona Wildcats women's swimming team improved their record to 4-0 (2-0) with victories over the Bruins of UCLA (172.5-123.5) and the Anteaters of UC Irvine (181-99). The Arizona men improved their season record to 3-0 (1-0) with a win over UC Irvine. The score of the meet was 179-106.

The women's relay teams continue to look good. Today in the 400 yard medley relay the team of Justine Schluntz, Jacquelyn Craft, Dana Christ and Lindsey Kelly finished in first place with a time of 3:44.41. In the 800 yard freestyle relay the team of Anna Turner, Courtney Cashion, Leone Vorster and Taylor Baughman finished on top with a time of 7:22.49.

Sophomore Leone Vorster finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.95.

Just like the women's relay teams, the men's relay teams continue to succeed. The team consisting of Cory Chitwood, Ivan Barnes, Albert Subirats and Nicholas Nilo came in first (3:15.69) in the 400 yard medley relay. The 400 yard free style relay team also came in first place with a time of 3:09.15. The team members were: Ivan Barnes, Bart Steninger, Jack Brown and Cory Chitwood.

At the diving well senor, Matt Bisordi finished in first place in both the 1 meter (326.05) and the 3 meter (379.75).

The diving team will travel next to Houston, Tex. for the Houston Invitational. The invitational will take place on Nov. 15 and go until Nov. 17. The swimming team's next meet isn't until Nov. 29 when they travel to Austin, Tex. for the Texas Invitational. The invitational will run through Dec. 1.
