U.S. Open: Meet Records Continue To Be Wiped Out

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, July 30. THE meet record book kept being torched as swimmers took to the pool during the second day of the U.S. Open in Minneapolis.

After downing Margaret Hoelzer's 2006 meet record of 2:10.95 during prelims with times of 2:10.38 and 2:10.79, Hayley McGregory of Longhorn and Kristen Heiss of Aggie dropped the record even further with McGregory touching in 2:08.42 and Heiss taking second in 2:09.99. Aya Terakawa of Mizuno placed third in 2:10.31, also under the record heading into the day.
