U.S. Olympian Jacob Pebley Engaged, Posts Instagram Video

Jacob Pebley posted on Instagram that he is engaged to girlfriend Nikki Owens. Pebley posted a video to his Instagram account where he and Owens revealed that “We should get married.”

Pebley’s comment about this being his new favorite carpool karaoke video is in reference to the video he and his U.S. Olympic teammates made prior to leaving for the Olympics.

Pebley qualified for the Olympic Games this past summer in the 200 back, and he went on to finish fifth in the event in Rio. He went on to win a silver at the Short Course World Championships in December. He is signed with TYR and continues to train at Cal.

In 2015, Pebley shouted-out Owens in a post-race interview at U.S. Nationals after winning the 200 back. That race happened on their two-year anniversary, and he explained afterwards that he had been rehearsing the shout-out all day.
