U.S. Air Force Academy Receives Two Verbal Commitments from Alex Clark, Tyryn Empremsilapa

Alex Clark, Tyryn Empremsilapa announce verbal commitments to Air Force.

NEW COMMITS: Alpharetta, Ga. native Alex Clark and Tyryn Empremsilapa of Buena Park, Calif. have both given their verbal pledges to the United States Air Force Academy and will arrive on campus at the start of the 2021-22 season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so honored to announce my verbal commitment to swim, study, and serve at the United States Air Force Academy! I am beyond blessed for all the support from God, coaches, family, and friends. Aim High!!”

A talented butterflyer and IMer, Clark swims year-round with Dynamo Swim Club and most recently placed 18th in the 200 fly at the Southern Premier Invitational where she achieved five best times. She finished sixth in the 100 fly and seventh in the 200 fly at Georgia Seniors in December and competed at Greensboro Futures last summer.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 56.71
  • 200 fly – 2:05.08
  • 200 IM – 2:09.55
  • 400 IM – 4:30.21

Also competing for Alpharetta High School, Clark is a six-time Georgia 6A State Championship finalist. She won the 100 fly and finished fourth in the 200 free as a junior while taking sixth and fifth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

TYRYN EMPREMSILAPA

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the United States Air Force Academy! Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for being the best support system I could ask for. Go Falcons! #aimhigh ✈”

Primarily a breaststroker and IMer, Empremsilapa does her club swimming with Irvine Novaquatics and raced the 100 breast at Juniors West in December. Last summer, she won the 100m breast at the MVN Junior Olympics before going on to race that event at Junior Nationals.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:03.73
  • 200 breast – 2:21.32
  • 200 IM – 2:07.76
  • 100 fly – 57.23

A rising senior at John F. Kennedy La Palma High School, Empremsilapa raced the 100 breast at the CIF State Championships during her rookie season. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American placed third in the 100 breast and sixth in the 200 IM as a sophomore at the CIF Souther DIII Section meet as well.
