Tylor Mathieu Continues Family Legacy with Verbal Commitment to Florida

NEW COMMIT: The Florida Gators have received a verbal commitment from Tylor Mathieu for the 2019-20 season. The Hebron, Conn. native is a Connecticut High School State Champion and a Winter Junior Nationals qualifier.

Mathieu swims for Blue Devil Swim Club and RHAM Senior High School. This season, Mathieu won both the 200 and 500 Freestyles at the CT CIAC Class M and State Open Championships. For BDEV, she earned best times in the 500, 1000 and 1,650 Freestyles earning her first Junior National Cut at Speedo Short Course Sectionals.

She announced on Instagram,

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at University of Florida!!! Go Gators!?❤ #chompchomp”

Mathieu’s Best Times:

  • 200 Free – 1:50.38
  • 500 Free – 4:51.83
  • 1,000 Free – 10:04.39
  • 1,650 Free – 16:53.51

Mathieu’s sister, Alicia Mathieu, announced her commitment to Florida in 2009. Alicia was a four-time All American for the Gators and currently holds the school record in the 1,650 at 15:46.17. Tylor has consistently improved every year in her best events, and will look to continue this progression as a senior this fall.
