Trinity University Adds In-State Freestyler Anabelle Conde for 2019
NEW COMMIT: Trinity University has earned a new in-state commitment for the fall of 2019 from Houston, Texas native and freestyle specialist Anabelle Conde.
Primarily a mid-distance freestyler, Conde swims year-round with Swim Houston Aquatic Center under head coach Gilbert Legaspi. She registered four lifetime bests at the Southern Senior Championships last month and finaled in a pair of events at Gulf Seniors last summer. Currently a senior at Saint Agnes Academy, had two top-16 finishes at the PEAK Short Course Championships in February and was the 100 fly runner-up at the TAPPS Division I Championships.
She told Swimming World:
“I am really excited to have committed to swim and study at Trinity University! As soon as I stepped on campus I knew that it was where I needed to be. I’m really glad to have found a program with such amazing coaches and team members. I’m looking forward to spending my next four years at such an amazing institution! Go Tigers!”
Her best times include:
- 200 free – 1:55.86
- 500 free – 5:05.84
- 1000 free – 10:24.68
- 1650 free – 18:00.14
When she suits up for the Tigers as a member of the class of 2023, Conde will add her talents to a freestyle group that includes Mabel Fowler and Morgen Reyna. Her best times already would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 free, 500 free and placed top-two in the mile at the 2018 SCAC Championships where Trinity won the conference crown.
