Jenny Ma will dive into the Ivy League next fall. The Cupertino High School senior has given her verbal commitment to Princeton University. Ma swims for Santa Clara Swim Club and is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Her 2015 short course season was highlighted by an A final swim in the 200 breaststroke at Junior Nationals (West). This summer Ma swam the 200 breaststroke at Olympic Trials.

She explained her decision,

“I chose Princeton because I believe it is the best place for me to grow personally, academically, and athletically. Plus, the campus is beautiful!”

Ma’s best times are:

  • 50 Breast 29.53
  • 100 Breast 1:01.89
  • 200 Breast 2:14.87
  • 200 IM 2:04.58

Princeton was edged for third at last year’s Ivy League Championships, but are quickly reloading. Her best 100 breaststroke time would have earned third place points last year, just faster than the Tigers’ best- junior Olivia Chan (1:01.94). Ma will also be a huge contributor in the 200 breaststroke where her best time would have been the fourth fastest time in the event and the quickest Tiger. Princeton put three freshman in to that A final- Lindsey SwartzKathryn Didion, and Janet Zhao. That trio will give Ma some excellent training partners for her first two years in New Jersey.
