The Toronto Titans, the newest International Swimming League franchise, have added their second and third signings in Canadian Kayla Sanchez and American Michael Chadwick.

Sanchez, a native of Scarborough, Ontario, competed for Energy Standard last year. She was part of Canada’s stellar 2017 World Junior Championships squad, winning five medals and three golds and setting two World Junior records. Sanchez swam legs on two Canadian bronze-medal winning relays at the 2019 World Championships.

“It’s very exciting to be a part of the meets hosted by ISL because they create the best atmosphere for fast racing,” Sanchez in a team release. “It’s also super cool being a part of a team from my city. LET’S GO TITANS!”

Chadwick, 24, was a 22-time All-American at the University of Missouri. The Charlotte, North Carolina, native has been a long-time relay cog for the Americans, winning medals at each of the last two short-course and long-course world championships, including as part of gold-winning 400 free relays at the 2017 and 2019 Long-Course Worlds. Chadwick took bronze in the 50 and 100 free at the 2019 Pan Am Games.

Chadwick was a member of the Los Angeles Current in the ISL’s inaugural season.

Chadwick and Sanchez join world champion backstroker Kylie Masse on the Toronto Titans’ roster.

“Being the newest team in the league, we’re certainly starting as the underdogs,” Toronto Titans general manager Rob Kent said. “I’m sure a lot of the other teams and swimmers don’t know quite what to make of us. But when you look at quality of swimmers we are signing to our team, including stars like Michael Chadwick and Kayla Sanchez, along with Kylie Masse who we announced yesterday, I think the other teams are realizing we’re for real and we’re putting together an incredible team. Wait until you see the other names we’ll be announcing alongside these three superstars! We’re going to be fast and we’re going to have fun being fast!”
