Time Comparisons of Winning Times from 2009 and 2010 Men’s NCAA Division I Swimming Championships

PHOENIX, Arizona, April 23. ONE of the most-discussed topics following the men's NCAA championships was not who won the team title or who was sick with the norovirus, but who went faster in 2010 compared to their times in 2009, the only year the high-tech suits were allowed at the championships.

At long last, someone has come forward with a detailed look at the winning times from both years, and a list of the scorers from the 2009 meet who went faster in 2010. Fred Hillier, Professor of Operations Research, Emeritus, Stanford University – and an avid swimming fan – allowed Swimming World to publish his comparison chart for your perusal. His bias toward the Cardinal might be a little obvious as you glance through his conclusions, but it does not overshadow his analysis.
