Three-Time Washington 4A State Champion Connor Elwyn Commits to Utah
NEW COMMIT: East Wenatchee, Wash. native Connor Elwyn has elected to continue his academic and swimming career at the University of Utah beginning in the fall of 2020.
He told Swimming World:
“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Utah, returning to my roots in Salt Lake City! So thankful for my Family, Coaches and friends who have always supported me. Go Utes!!”
Elwyn swims year-round with Velocity Swimming and has achieved two Junior National cuts. He recently earned four best times at Federal Way Sectionals after recording five top-15 finishes at Washington Seniors. Last summer, he had a strong showing at Mount Hood Sectionals before going on to final in the 200m fly at Santa Clara Futures.
His best times include:
- 50 back – 23.35
- 100 back – 49.53
- 200 back – 1:51.00
- 100 fly – 50.51
- 200 fly – 1:51.91
A senior at Wenatchee High School, Elwyn is an eight-time Washington 4A State Championship finalist. He won the 100 back and took fifth in the 200 free as a junior while grabbing gold in the 100 back and 100 free during his junior season. In 2019, he became the first swimmer in Wenatchee history to win state in two different events.
