Three Australian Masters Records Fall This Weekend

By Graham Senders, Swimming World Australian Masters correspondent

PERTH, Australia, June 16. THE usual suspects were again at it in the pool at the short course Mandurah Carnival on Sunday.

Three Australian records went down, two to Rod Baker at his home pool. He took .60 off the 80-84 50 freestyle mark he set at the Mandurah carnival last year with a time of 35.87. He also took nine and half seconds off the 100 IM time set by Stuart Somerville in 2001 in a time of 1:41.47.

Victor Paul had a rare outing in Stadium Snappers colours, and started his inroads into the Australian 65-69 short course records slicing 2.01 seconds off Claremont swimmer Colin Mayrhofer's 2007 100 IM record time with a time of 1:17.55.
