Therese Svendsen, Martin Gustafsson Shine at Swedish Grand Prix 1

JONKOPING, Sweden, February 10. IN a long course competition, both Therese Svendsen and Martin Gustafsson claimed meet title trifectas as they swept their particular strokes at the Swedish Grand Prix 1 held in Jonkoping.

Svendsen led the women with a backstroke brace with wins in the 50 (31.00), 100 (1:04.38) and 200 (2:19.01), while Gustafsson did the same with a men's breaststroke sweep in the 50 (29.61), 100 (1:03.03) and 200 (2:22.12).

Four women and one man collected meet doubles throughout the weekend's swimming.

Olympic gold medalist Lars Frolander captured the 100 free (50.78) and 50 fly (25.02), while Ida Marko-Varga won in the 200 free (2:03.23) and 400 free (4:34.31). Meanwhile, Joline Hostman snared titles in the 100 breast (1:11.15) and 200 breast (2:30.74), while Sarah Sjostrom pocketed the 50 fly (27.70) and 100 fly (1:02.01). Claire Hedenskog provided the final multiple medalist with wins in the 50 free (25.92) and 100 free (56.12).

Stina Gardell (200 IM: 2:15.57), Anna Ahlin (800 free: 9:21.71), Rebecca Ejdervik (50 breast: 33.47), Bettina Caspersen (400 IM: 5:16.71) and Sofie Gardell (200 fly: 2:21.59) each won titles for the women.

For the men, Jonas Grundstrom (400 IM: 5:04.47), Simon Sjodin (100 back: 56.99), Christian Konrad (200 fly: 2:11.65), Linus Junefelt (400 free: 4:09.31), Glenn Surgeloose (200 free: 1:51.47), Erik Andersson (100 fly: 56.20), Michael Berndtsson (50 back: 27.79), Erik Samelsson (200 IM: 2:08.84), Marcus Piehl (50 free: 23.18) and Mattias Carlsson (200 back: 2:08.02) also earned victories.
